The usual preconditions for continuing to the PhD are a final mark of at least 70, a satisfactory performance in an interview and agreement of the PhD proposal with a potential supervisor. We are one of the major UK centres for education and research in health and related subjects. This one-day meeting brings together microbiologists, consultants in infectious disease, infection control nurses and biomedical and clinical scientists to hear updates on recent “hot topics” in all aspects of infectious disease.
