Our undergraduate programmes in Medicine, Dentistry and Medical Sciences are delivered in world-class facilities by academic staff who are at the forefront of teaching and research excellence. We are active in a wide range of research areas in the health, education, medicine and social care fields and aim to make a real difference to people’s lives. For some courses, the department or faculty may have provided some additional advice below to help you to decide.

You will need to meet these additional costs, although you may be able to apply for small grants from your department and/or college to help you cover some of these expenses. In addition to offering our medical degree and course in sports science, Lancaster Medical School conducts research into biomedicine, social and ethical aspects of health and medicine, and medical education. The Division of Health Research specialises in postgraduate study and high-quality research with national and international impact on health and wellbeing policy. We believe advances in healthcare are achieved through strong mutually beneficial partnerships, working with external organisations to support research, innovation and professional development in health and medicine. Across our four schools we undertake leading research to drive forward understanding within our fields, whilst improving the provision of care and delivering meaningful impact for our partners and collaborators.

Experience of global health issues including at least one year’s experience in a resource-limited context; the one year’s experience may include all work related to global health including work with government and non-governmental organisations. The first term will consist of topics on research methods, an overview of some major global health challenges, and topics related to the research and practice of global health. We’re excited to be introducing a 5-year undergraduate degree in Medicine leading to the award of Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery . The new Brunel Medical School will be part of the College of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences.

The programme consists of compulsory modules which cover sports injury; lower limb; upper limb; head, neck and spine; advanced sports injury, exercise physiology, health and physical activity and research methods. You can choose one option from rehabilitation of sports injuries or team and event medicine. The programme focuses on the prevention and treatment of sports injuries in particular.

Our vision is to apply our research, education and practice to improve health outcomes and quality of life for individuals and societies. The MSc in Sports Medicine, Exercise and Health at UCL places a strong emphasis on improving health through exercise alongside the management of sports and musculoskeletal injury. The programme has significant clinical content and students benefit from attendance at numerous specialist clinics. Students on the MSc in Sports Medicine, Exercise and Health at UCL are from diverse backgrounds reflecting the true multidisciplinary nature of sports and exercise medicine.

We welcome applications from prospective students who hold a primary medical or allied health sciences degree e.g. medicine, physiotherapy, sports science. Applicants should have a minimum of one year post-graduation clinical experience relating to their primary degree. This MSc is designed to give clinicians a deeper understanding of sports medicine, sports injuries and exercise medicine.
